In addition to our Application Engineering services, Monofrax also offers a value added spout and lip casing for the float industry.  Also, with our fully equipped laboratory we are also able to analyze glass defects and run corrosion testing for customers around the globe.

Monofrax Spout/Lip Casing

In keeping with the tradition of being a world leader in fused cast refractory, Monofrax is pleased to offer a turn-key solution to a common challenge facing flat glass producers.
The Monofrax spout/lip casing is a combination of world class Monofrax® M fused cast alumina, the highest quality sub-layer refractory, along with a custom and precision engineered steel casing. All of these combine to provide a glass maker with a high quality custom design solution for this critical manufacturing process.
In-house specialists work closely with the customer to define the specific requirements of both the refractory and steel components. Once manufacturing has been completed the customer inspects the final assembly, and it is released for shipment.
A specialized packaging system is employed which allows the assembled spout/lip casing to meet the challenges of global shipping practices. This packaging allows the assembled casings to arrive on-site, anywhere in the world, with the same tolerances and quality which were observed in the Monofrax facility inspection.
